Le Pan TC1020 Help And Discussion / RIP TC1020
« on: April 10, 2016, 10:29:38 AM »
I finally decided to send in my husband's TC1020 because of the problem with the charging port.  The tablet just would charge anymore and I had purchased the Wal-Mart warranty when I first purchased 2 of the TC1020's.  I wanted to use the TC1020 as a backup to the Samsung tablets that we have (and LOVE).  Much to my dismay, I was notified that they cannot fix it, however, they will be reimbursing me for the full amount I paid for the tablet. They also mentioned that they no longer make a motherboard for this tablet????  Anyone else experience this issue?

The Lounge - Off Topic Forum / Advice on other Tablet
« on: June 28, 2015, 10:25:08 AM »
Hi, all,

I am contemplating purchasing the Samsung - Galaxy Tab Pro - 12.2" - 32GB.  It's on sale at Best Buy for 549.00 at Best Buy.  Any thoughts on this tablet?  Better than LePan TC1020? Limitations that you are aware of?
Is it compatible with Chromecast?  Is there a better tablet?  I hate to entertain the thought of the I-thing tablet, but I am sooo tired of the TC1020's keyboard taking on a life of it's own.  Any info would be appreciated.

Le Pan TC1020 Help And Discussion / Need help with tc1020
« on: September 21, 2014, 07:42:34 AM »
My hubby has been complaining that his tablet "is not working right".  He is a gardening enthusiast who is active on a few forums.  About three weeks ago he started complaining that he was unable to post.  After typing in a comment and hitting the " post" button, it would be stuck.  After watching the little circle spin for an inordinate amount of time, he gave up.  This problem was not exclusive to this site.  Even email wouldn't work right.

I decided to do a factory reset.  Easily connected to the web, however, wont load any pages.
When hitting the system update, I get an error message that says
Network connection error (7).

Can anyone help!

Today is my birthday!  I always loved my birthday, not because it's my special day, but because the leaves have started to change colors and the air is cool and crisp.  I got my first LePan for my birthday a few years ago.  I'm on my fourth LePan now.  Happy Birthday to me!

Chromecast And Le Pan Tablets / Chromecast and Amazon Prime- It is possible!
« on: September 02, 2014, 07:54:53 PM »
The good news is that you can stream Amazon Prime AND HBOGO  (and more) through your Chromecast device.

The bad news is that it is going to cost you!  It's still cheaper than cable!

It's about time! Hopefully we won't have to jump through so many hoops to watch instant videos on our Android tablets!

The Lounge - Off Topic Forum / What's Going On With LePan?
« on: March 11, 2014, 06:56:13 PM »
As I await the next snowstorm (ugh!!!!) I am wondering what's going on with LePan.  I admit I am no techie, but I like stuff that works, and I love my LePan tablets.  But the Mini seems to have come and gone in a flash, the website is never up to date, and the company just does not seem to promote their products very well.  IMHO, they could do so much better with just a little more aggressive marketing.

Any thoughts?

Chromecast And Le Pan Tablets / Roku Stick vs Chromecast
« on: March 08, 2014, 04:12:54 PM »
I understand that Roku will be coming out sometime in April with a streaming stick with a $50 price point.  I heard that you will be able to stream content from Amazon Prime, which to the best of my knowledge, you can't do through Chromecast.  Anyone have any info on this little gem?

I found an OfficeMax about 35 miles away that had the Mini in stock and (reluctantly) agreed to do a price adjustment for the Mini (which is now back up to $169) back to the President's Day sale price of $99. While the guy on the phone was a little iffy about the whole thing, when I arrived he couldn't have been nicer.  In fact, he took it upon himself to check if there were any coupons that could be applied (there weren't) to the sale.  He had put aside one Mini for me based on my phone call, but I decided on purchasing two, one for my husband and my friend wanted one if I could get it at the sale price.

I took the liberty of relaying my experience with the other OfficeMax and being told that the Mini was being recalled.  He said that the word "recall" was the wrong word and that should have never been said.

He did say that the inventory of Mini's from that store could have been sent to a wholesaler for distribution.  His store has not been directed to do this at this time, however, when their inventory is gone he does not believe they will be getting more.

He did say that they have sold quite a few of them, despite it NEVER being on display (he said they were told not to display it?????), only advertised through the store flyer and online.  He does not recall even one being returned to the store because someone was not happy with it.  Alls well that ends well!

BIG thanks to Coda for the price adjustment tip! And to Rabid for helping me narrow down the problem to a single store rather than a more global issue!

Two Mini's @ $99 each
Saturday afternoon trip down I-87 and back -$14

Le Pan Mini Help And Discussion / OfficeMax Says Mini Was Recalled
« on: March 07, 2014, 07:10:39 PM »
I just called two of the local OfficeMax stores to see if they have any LePan Mini's in stock.  I was told that they were recalled as of yesterday.  I asked for what reason and was told that the instructions were to process all units as damaged through the company that does their repairs (I think the name wasJenco).
