Le Pan TC1020 Help And Discussion / Battery Life
« on: December 13, 2015, 03:15:22 PM »
Well it is beginning to look like my 1020 battery is finally starting to feel it's age.  After a couple of years of daily use for an average  of  3 hours a day, although  the time to charge from 15% to full has remained a fairly constant 5 hours, the operating time per charge has begun to decrease until I now am only getting about 4 1/2 hours before I have to stick it on the charger. Originally I was getting close to 8 hours between charges. Only thing I can imagine is old age since nothing else significant has changed in terms of new apps or power usage and I've kept the malware,  etc. under control.

Going to start investigating replacement if I can locate a battery.  Haven't started looking yet so if anyone has any recommend sources I'd appreciate a heads up.

Le Pan II Help And Discussion / Flash Player for LPII
« on: March 03, 2015, 10:09:36 PM »
So my wife has an LPII that she is trying to use a little more.  One of the things she would like to do is play games while on Facebook.. She currently has FP 11.1, installed as well as Firefox, Ocean, Dolphin and Chrome browsers.  None of which like the FP version.

I know this has been previously identified as a problem with Android was wondering if anyone has found an FP/browser version/combination that works.

So now that we are starting a new year,  I am going to open this can again and ask if anyone can honestly  say that for the price there is a better 10" tablet on the market than the TC1020.

Given  the specs, the features, the quality, and the overall performance I haven't seen one.

I again limit this to: new,  10",  $200 price range.

Beat on me till I change my mind.   ;D  >: ;D

Chromecast And Le Pan Tablets / Chromecast & Windows

Interesting fact about Chromecast.

If you install the app on a Windows machine, and use Chrome for a browser, you can cast any page to your TV, something that you can't do with Android.

Cast symbol in the upper right corner of the Chrome page.

Le Pan Mini Help And Discussion / Mini Power Off (or not)
« on: June 13, 2014, 12:59:02 PM »
Has anyone noticed an issue with the mini not really powering down when so instructed?

The way I normally use my mini is to start it up in the morning, use it for a few hours and then shut it down for several hours while I go do some real work.  Shutdown involves pressing the power button until the shutdown message pops up, answering "yes" when asked if I want to power off and then getting a short buzz and apparent power off.

The issue arises the next time I go to use the mini in that as soon as I press the power button I am instantly on.  No start-up time, no le pan logo, just as if I never powered down. Checking the battery stats shows that the tablet has been on continually and power drain has been "tablet idle."

My sole purpose for shutting down between uses is to conserve battery however this is apparently not happening and if I go for a couple of days without using it, I may have a dead mini even though I thought I had safely powered off.

Has kit-kat done anything to take advanage of storage space on SD cards?  Eg:  moving apps to sd2.

I know this doesn't fall in the usual price range of tablets we discuss here ($350) but has anyone looked at this? I really like Samsung products and wonder if it is worth the extra above the Mini.

I know, two minis and a case for the same price.

Le Pan II Help And Discussion / App Identification
« on: January 24, 2014, 03:46:58 PM »
I'm looking for a  way to identify an app that is using my battery on my lp2.  The particular app in question is "btwlancoex.'  Other than it showing up as a battery hog, I haven't been able to identify it.  I could start removing apps and see if it goes away but thought I would ask the forum before I go through that exercise.

Been watching the battery usage on the mini and am a little concerned.  During the 24 hour sample, most of the time the tablet was not being used.  Actual time of use is probably 3 - 4 hours but it appears there is a steady and rapid discharge.

I'm used to getting 2 - 3 days between charges under typical use from the lp2 and am wondering what other mini users are experiencing.
