Le Pan TC1020 Help And Discussion / Re: RIP TC1020

I still love my mini!  Although my Samsung is the tablet that I use on a daily basis, I still travel with my mini.  My husband also has his downstairs on his workbench.  I think that was the best tablet that LePan produced.

Hi Elizabeth.  Sorry to here about your 1020.  Maybe Le Pan has finally run its course.  It was fun while it lasted.  Me personally.  I've been obsessing over acoustic guitars lately.

It seems like it has, John.  I miss the Forum chatter.  Acoustic guitars are AWESOME!  Enjoy!

Le Pan TC1020 Help And Discussion / RIP TC1020

I finally decided to send in my husband's TC1020 because of the problem with the charging port.  The tablet just would charge anymore and I had purchased the Wal-Mart warranty when I first purchased 2 of the TC1020's.  I wanted to use the TC1020 as a backup to the Samsung tablets that we have (and LOVE).  Much to my dismay, I was notified that they cannot fix it, however, they will be reimbursing me for the full amount I paid for the tablet. They also mentioned that they no longer make a motherboard for this tablet????  Anyone else experience this issue?

Hey Elizabeth.  How are you liking those Samsungs?

We are loving them so far, John!  Thanks for asking.  No issues whatsoever.  Very smooth. I don't regret my purchase at all.

Embarrassed to say I have a 10.5 pro too.  I am sure the 10.5 S is even nicer.

Yeah the Tab S 8.4 has a pixel density of: 359.39 Resolution: 25601600 on an  8.4 ″ display.  Insanely sharp screen.

We have the 10.5" tablets, John.  So far we love  them.  I really like the side sync.  Keeping my fingers crossed.

Received both Samsung Galaxy S tablets yesterday.  Very nice!  Love the display, sound, and the side sync feature.  Pictures seem so much sharper.
Love them so far. Thanks to all those who weighed in with advice.

One of the nice things about Samsung is there are lots of custom fit accessories for them.  Plus the Touchwiz ui is nice.  Features like "close all" in resent apps.

My wife and I are out of town for our 15th wedding  anniversary.  I booted up her tab s and my Nexus 9 at the same time.  I had her tab s booted and logged into the hotel WiFi before the Nexus finished booting.

You can get great deals on Samsung cases on eBay.  They have great designs that fit like a glove.  The s has little snap tabs on the back of the tablet.  They just look like flush buttons.  The case has snaps that attach directly to those tabs so no need for a frame around the tablet.  Very slick light weight design.

Can't seem to make the link work using Tapatalk but search this on ebay

Smart Stand Case Wake/Sleep Cover For Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 Inch SM-T700 T705

Thanks!  It's like Christmas here..new roof, new hardwood floors on second level, new tablets...it makes me happy.

I hope so.  Very disappointed in the unstable performance of my TC1020 after a couple of hours of use and my husband's TC1020 will no longer charge. I will send his in to be repaired under the Walmart warranty plan.  Right now I'm using the old reliable LePan II.

Now for the accessories!!

Elizabeth.  Well?  Did you pull the trigger?

I just bought a used tab S 8.4 for my wife.  I guess I am becoming a bit of a Samsung Fanboy as they say.  Can't help it.  They are nice if you get the right model.

John, its been awhile' but I'm back in the market and comparing the new tab S to the old tab pro line.  Any advice?  Do you still like your wife's S tablet?

Thanks, Yo!  I had to take the tablet out of the case to get it to seat properly, but you were right, you know when it is right.  Now it doesn't pull out.  This seems to have solved the problem on my husband's tablet of the loose charging port.  Thanks!

Thanks, we are still at the hotel, but hopefully we can get back into our home soon.

Chromecast does not work in the hotel, but Amazon FireTV Stick works great!  Even had a package delivered to the front desk.  I guess the Marriott is not the worse place to be, but I want to go home.

Ok, had this little gadget for 24 hours now and a couple of comments.

First of all, the instructions are not only small, but the important parts are light white print on a light green background.  Totally unreadable.  I even tried scanning to enlarge and using different reading tricks (OCR, magnifying glass, my wife's eye's, etc.) and gave up and used the descriptions in the reviews.

Secondly, the little metal plug is a little hard to get in all the way.  A gap between the tablet and the plug was clearly visible.  I was afraid to force it too hard and as a result the magnet on the cable pulled the plug out of the tablet rather than coming loose.  I played with both plugs that were included and eventually got one seated completely.  Now the cable easily comes loose from the plug with no apparent effect on the tablet port.

I purchased one of these, but I can't get it to stay in the port.  I've tried both plugs and one did seem to seat better than the other, but it pulls right out.

I did a data transfer which went fine and a charge.  Although the charge went from 20 - 100% in about 5 hours, I was using a different charger than my usual Rav and I will have to try it on the Rav next time to compare apples to etc.

Overall it seems to work as advertised and if you are concerned about continually plugging and unplugging directly into the tablet, it is probably worth a try.  I am going to keep it only because I want to do whatever I can to keep the 1020 going as long as I can or until something better comes along.
