Le Pan TC1020 Help And Discussion / Re: RIP TC1020
« on: April 14, 2016, 01:14:00 PM »
As perhaps expected, I am typing this on my original 1020. Aside from some precieved issues with the battery life, it has been my goto tablet for many years now.  Starting with the LP 2, thru the Mini  and to the 1020, I have always been very satisfied  with Le  Pan.  I have never had any real problems and the only contact I ever had with them resulted in quickly answered responses.

This forum has been a joy to work with and although I don't get on as much anymore, I have not found any other one that is as enjoyable as this one is.  The administrators,  technical guru's,  and all the of participants have made this what it is.

I am currently exploring  the world of dual boot tablets,  specifically a Teclast X98 Plus and all though there is a very active forum available,  it just doesn't seem to be as much fun.   All things change but some leave a much nicer taste.

1020 fan forever - or at least as long as it lasts.

Speaking of funny, the x98+ is what I just ordered over the weekend.  After I bricked half my pipo and my 1020 started getting tired,  the 98 looks really nice.  I am stilluusing the 1020 on a daily basis (including right now) and just hope the 9.7 vs 10.1 size doesn't make any difference.

Thanks for the feedback and I'll let you know how it goes.

So Senor Rabid1, after a year how do you like/do you still have your Teclast?  Don't know if you saw my post but I just pulled the trigger on an X98 Plus.  Curious about your experience.

Thanks

Well after about 4 months of use,  I was getting comfortable enough with the PiPo dual boot to start experimenting with it and guess  what,  I now have a single boot android tablet with a brick windows system. I had really gotten a good deal (cheap) when I got it so I don't feel too bad especially since I knew what might happen when I started messing with it.

Given that I was beginning to enjoy the convenience of the dual boot, I started looking for another one with some slightly better specs without breaking  the bank.  Settled on a Teclast X98 Plus from geekbuying for slightly under $200.  Specs look good for the price with a couple  of exceptions (no ac network, no usb 3, reported poor speakers, no gps (( the latter two I'm not concerned about)), and a previous generation processor) but the battery life and rresolution off set these things for me.

Several reviews out there and several sellers however if anyone is interested, the geekbuying deal is probably going to end shortly.   I payed an extra $4 for 3 - 5 day DHL shipping so I will try to update next week.

Le Pan TC1020 Help And Discussion / Battery Life
« on: December 13, 2015, 03:15:22 PM »
Well it is beginning to look like my 1020 battery is finally starting to feel it's age.  After a couple of years of daily use for an average  of  3 hours a day, although  the time to charge from 15% to full has remained a fairly constant 5 hours, the operating time per charge has begun to decrease until I now am only getting about 4 1/2 hours before I have to stick it on the charger. Originally I was getting close to 8 hours between charges. Only thing I can imagine is old age since nothing else significant has changed in terms of new apps or power usage and I've kept the malware,  etc. under control.

Going to start investigating replacement if I can locate a battery.  Haven't started looking yet so if anyone has any recommend sources I'd appreciate a heads up.

Funny thing, I kinda feel the same way. Nothing much better for my needs than the 1020.  I think that is the reason that I haven't gotten anything else until recently when I got the PiPo dual boot.  Specs were close enough to the 1020 to make the dual boot an integrating option.  I am still getting used to it but so far I think I like it.   ;D   ::)

So, I got a PiPo W3f a couple of days ago and am just beginning to do some serious playing with it. Dual boot is a trip though I'm not sure yet how to take full advantage of it. I upgraded to Windows 10 yesterday and after Iload some mmore apps on both os's I will get a better feel for it.

First impressions are decent screen, good build,  good performance with basics. The keyboard/cover is different than what I am used to and there are a couple of things I have to figure out. EventuallyI wwill be comparing it to the 1020 which is still my standard.  ;D

Actually I have been running 10 for several months if you count the beta test versions, and after jumping from Windows 7 to Windows 10, I find I really like it.  I skipped 8 since I was not at all impressed (my wife runs it) but will be going to 10 on some other machines shortly.  That is on of the reasons I am looking at the PiPo machine for the dual boot into Win 10.  Almost sounds like it will be a "do everything I need" machine.

As for Edge and Chrome, I run them both on the same machine with no problems.

So now you've done it.   I'm seriously looking at the W3F which is the 10" version without the phone. I don't really need the phone but I sure like the dual boot.

Rabid - did they send you the correct charger?  Read some posts where people got the wrong one.  Let me know how the dual boot is working out.  Thanks

Settings > Apps > Uninstall.  There may be some you can't uninstall if they are system related.

Glad to hear it. I'm not even thinking of trying to remove it now that it's comfortable.   ;)
